The Specifics

Love visiting and supporting your local farmers’ market? Always wanted to host a dinner party that fills stomachs while having an impact? To support June’s 30-Day Challenge, we’re getting our cook on and are looking for great recipes featuring healthy, locally-sourced foods.

We’ve partnered with Eat For Equity, an organization whose mission is to ‘Eat, drink, do good and be merry.’ They bring people in Boston, Minneapolis and Portland together around food to raise money for the greater good. Their dinner party fundraisers feature fresh local foods offered at an affordable price; each attendee makes a suggested donation and collectively they’ve raised tens of thousands of dollars for nonprofit causes. We’re inspired by their work – and want to hear how they inspire you!

Submit your recipe here and tell us how you plan on sharing the meal with your community; the top voted idea will get $500 to make your idea happen. Maybe you want to try a new gruyere, apple, and arugula flatbread recipe and and host a dinner party fundraiser, or you want to serve your favorite meal at your local homeless shelter. You could take your recipe to a local school and teach kids about healthy eating and cooking. The more delicious the recipe and the more creative the community benefit the better! Tell us how you’d use $500 to bring your community together over locally sourced foods.

Submit your recipe and idea here between June 1 and June 29 noon Pacific Time. From June 29 to July 20, we’ll open it up to public voting. Rally your colleagues and friends to get behind your effort and join the GOOD community in selecting the winner.
